Before creating this blog, I have visited some good Spa's and beauty salons, these ones are my ultimate favourites in my home country, Finland.

Place: Siluetti Spa
Treatment: Classic Massage
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Date: New Year's Eve, 2009

I was adviced to come about 15 minutes before my appointment - and the appointment was also easy to get at short notice. The Spa is easy to find and it has incredibly beautiful premises in the heart of Helsinki locating on Pohjoisesplanadi, next to the Esplanadi Park. In the same building, actually in the same address, you can also find Luis Vuitton's (only!) store in Finland. Siluetti Spa has the top floor while Luis Vuitton locates on the street level.

What is amazing, is that there is no sunlight coming to the Spa as all windows are dimmed (exept in the ladies' dressing room) - there are only plenty of - maybe 150 - Firelight candles all over the place, soft mood lighting and also plenty of flowers and some music delightful to listen.

So, I arrived a bit earlier and went to the reception and was asked to sit down and wait and fill in a form about my health. It was a cold day, -20°C so I left my coat and shoes in a closet in the lobby and got slippers instead. I had a nice, warm cup of vanilla green tea and was brought to the dressing room. I changed a bath robe on and went to a waiting lobby - where I was able to read some magazines or books or just sit or lie down on a divan and enjoy, and maybe have a glass of water and some nuts. I finished my tea there.

Shortly, my wonderful cosmetician, Reeta, came and asked me if I was ready to start the treatment and she brought me to my personal, little, beautiful room (there are also suites with own baths, for one or two persons, available). First, I got a nice, warm foot bath with some nice scented bath salt (what a divine start!). After that, the massage could begin! The bed was heated so it was pleasant to lie down on such a cold winter day as it was. Reeta asked me if I have some particular problem areas that she could focus on and if there is some scent I would like to have blended in the massage oil - but she had noted that I have lots of allergies, so she suggested that we would not use any scent at all and I agreed.

The massage lasted for an hour and was the most perfect massage I have ever had. Reeta focused on my shoulders as I wished - and I was in heaven. And again, there were some candles and white flowers in the room and under the massage bed. After my treatment I got a cup of Siluetti Spa's own secret ginger drink, which tasted fresh and wonderful - I would gladly have the recipe! After the drink and the treatment, Reeta brought me back to the dressing room, where I had a shower and was able to put some moisturizer on. I changed my clothes and went back to the reception. When leaving, I got to take the cozy slippers with me and Reeta gave me some product samples and instructions of how to take care of my skin at home.

Afterall, I must say that the very beautiful premises affected me greatly too, but the treatment was worth its price (about 120 € / 60 min.).

Siluetti Spa is a place worth trying!
